SF City Vitals was established to meet the growing needs of low-income individuals and families in San Francisco. We are intentional in supporting parents, women, youth, and children because we recognize that our health, government and social systems are often inadequate in meeting the needs of marginalized and underserved populations. We then see how that results in community members taking on that responsibility on a voluntary basis.
Our focus is vulnerbale families, but it's also our Doulas and Community Health Workers. We support them by utilizing Medi-Cal's Doula Benefit that came into effect in January 2023 and Medi-Cal's Health Worker Benefit that came into effect in July 2022.
We have made it our mission to teach ourselves and our colleagues how to provide care that is centered on empathy, compassion, and cultural sensitivity. We believe that by doing so, we can help in the creation of a more just and equitable society that is inclusive of all individuals.
